A vigorous upright grower with deciduous silvery gray foliage, offering a striking formal appearance for shade gardens. A cross between A. niponicum pictum, which provides the silvery color, and A. filix-femina contributing the upright habit. Silver color is most intense in the spring, fronds mature to a gray-green later in season. Athyrium 'Ghost' tolerates slightly dryer soil than some Athyrium, but it should not be allowed to dry out completely; organic, moisture retentive soil is preferred. Deer resistant.
