Velvety plum-black, double blooms with contrasting light yellow stamens in early spring. Vigorous strain will add dramatic flair to your garden. Large 3" flowers will have three times the number of petals as a single hellebore. Like the other double flowers in the Winter ThrillersTM series, they retain their color for up to 12 weeks. Leathery green foliage, deer resistant. Hellebores are wonderful in shady mixed beds and cottage gardens, or along the sunny edge of an understory planting. Hardy to zone 4b (the southern half of zone 4).
Helleborus, also known as Hellebore or Lenten Rose, have very early spring blooms and handsome, leathery foliage. Plant in borders or a woodland edge. Give light to moderate shade for best flowering. Tolerant of heat and humidity, and when established, drier conditions. Highly deer resistant.
