Exceptionally attractive with leaves that unfurl green, then develop striking white markings as they mature. Red stems add more interest. Late spring flowers are sweetly fragrant. Polygonatum 'Byakko' is a Japanese clone, its name translates as "White Tiger". It was once widely grown in Japan for the cut flower trade, but dwindled almost to extinction before being rescued.
Prefers dappled rather than full shade for best color. Fairly vigorous, considering the area of white on each leaf. Grow in a lightly shaded border or along a patio edge where its unique foliage can be appreciated at close range. Shipped in a 1.68pt/798mL container.
