Abundant, soft pink blooms on wiry stems in early spring rise above a vigorous, spreading clump of dark green foliage. Epimedium 'Pink Elf' is a hybrid from Epimedium expert Robin White; an E. leptorrhizum and E. pubescens cross with evergreen leaves.
Spring-blooming Epimedium are delicate looking plants with a strong constitution, tolerating deep shade and tree root competition. Ideally they enjoy well drained, organic soil with even moisture, but they are also drought resistant when established, making them a great choice for dry shade. Very appealing, refined foliage. A long-lived perennial for the front of a shady bed, as a groundcover, or in woodland gardens. Deer resistant. Epimedium are also known as Barrenwort, Bishop's Hat, or Fairy Wings.
