Beautiful and unusual deep maroon buds open to maroon and yellow flowers held on strong scapes above the blue-green foliage. Baptisia Decadence® 'Cherries Jubilee' blooms in late spring to early summer, secondary branching on the flower stems increases the show. As the flowers age, they turn gold. Well-branched stems form a bushy, upright spreading mound of foliage that is relatively short for Baptisia. The Decadence® series of Baptisia were chosen for their desirable colors and relatively compact size.
Baptisia, also known as False Indigo, has attractive blue-green foliage and ornamental seed pods. A wonderful and long-lived choice for perennial borders, cottage gardens, or mingled with native plants in a meadow or prairie type planting. It is drought tolerant when established, deer resistant, and attracts butterflies. Good for cut flowers.
