A graceful grass with red stems and red tips that bleed into an overall orange red fall color in September. Small soft purple blooms accented with a touch of orange. Very appealing when in seed, it has an interesting arrangement of small oat-like seeds suspended along just one side of the stalk. A vegetative selection of the North American native also known as Sideoats Grama. Forms a graceful, vase shaped specimen with airy wands of seedheads. Tolerant of hot, dry conditions when established.
