Dashes of light colored seed heads animate this striking grass. Narrow, blue-gray leaf blades create a dense 12-18" tall clump in summer. In autumn the foliage turns a golden brown, sometimes developing hues of orange and red. Charteuse flowers appear on arching stems above the foliage in early to midsummer, then mature to blonde seed heads. Seed stalks bring the total height to approximately 30" tall. Selection of the native Blue Grama grass. Use Bouteloua 'Blonde Ambition' in naturalized settings, borders, and massed on its own or with other grasses. Drought tolerant when established. Deer resistant.
