Intensely vibrant flower color! Vivid violet-blue blossoms in late spring to early summer. Because of its shorter stature, Baptisia 'Sparkling Sapphires' is easier to fit into smaller gardens. Seed pods begin to develop immediately after the plant is finished flowering, deepening in color and persisting into fall. Part of the Decadence® Series, which includes varieties selected for their desirable flower colors and shorter, more compact habit than typical Baptisia. A Proven Winners® selection.
Baptisia, also known as False Indigo, blooms in plump spires in late spring to early summer, has attractive blue-green foliage, and ornamental seed pods. A wonderful and long-lived choice for perennial borders, cottage gardens, or mingled with native plants in a meadow or prairie type planting. It is drought tolerant when established, deer resistant, and attracts butterflies. Good for cut flowers.
