Variegated leaves on a nicely compact grass-like plant. Dark green foliage edged with bright white makes this Sedge a striking addition to the shade garden. Small, cream, bottlebrush-like flowers are produced in mid-spring but are insignificant compared to the handsome foliage. Deer resistant. Evergreen in its southern range. Grow in average to moist soil. This is one of those plants we like not only for its looks, but also for its "useability". A compact, but not too small size, lets Carex 'Ice Dance' work wonderfully in containers, rain gardens, woodland areas, and borders. A slow to moderate spreader, it can also be used as a ground cover.
