This sun loving alpine-type Bleeding Heart has flaming magenta red, heart-shaped flowers with white tips produced in clusters above the very finely textured, frosty blue foliage from late spring into midsummer. A hybrid with a more vigorous growth rate, bushier habit, earlier flowering, and more abundant blooms than similar types. Does not produce seed, helping it to bloom longer into summer. Attracts hummingbirds, deer resistant. Grow Dicentra 'Fire Island' at the front of a border or in patio containers.
