Incredibly dark, near-black, maple-like leaves and outstanding 7-8" pale pink flowers with darker pink speckling and veining. Upright clumping habit with flowers produced from the top to the bottom of the plant. Long blooming, Hibiscus 'Starry Starry Night' puts on an incredibly floriferous show from mid to late summer into early fall.
This is a perennial-type Hibiscus, not a woody shrub, although the stems are tough and strong. In early spring, cut back any remaining stems before new growth appears. Hibiscus are one of the last perennials to emerge in spring, but grows quickly after it sprouts. Consistent water brings larger flowers and lusher foliage. Grow in a mixed bed, as an accent, or as part of a tropical style setting. Mulch heavily for the first winter.
