Short mounding bushy plants that grow only 24-30" tall and wide! Substantial blue flower spikes in late spring to early summer sit right above the foliage. Finally a selection of our native False Indigo for smaller gardens! We love the statuesque height of most Baptisia, but sometimes it is just too much of a good thing! Foliage is also proportionately more finely textured. Prefers well drained soil. Perfect in front of ornamental grasses, in native-type plantings, and perennial borders.

Attractive to butterflies.

Good for Cut Flowers

Enjoy fresh cut blooms right from the garden! Experiment and have fun: store-bought blooms need to withstand storage and shipping, but home gardeners can use almost any flower for bouquets.

Tips for cut flowers: Cut blooms in the cool of the day. Leave plenty of stems and foliage to nourish the plant for future growth, (cut no more than 1/3 of the plant's growth). Re-cut stems at an angle under water just before putting in a vase. Change water in the vase frequently. Pick both large and small bouquets - even a single flower adds a nice, fresh touch.
