Amazingly unique selection has compact mounds of glossy, elongated, spiny-edged leaves that are burnished and shaded with copper and red tones. As a dainty counterpoint, lemon yellow flowers create spidery candelabras above the foliage in spring. Deer resistant.
Spring-blooming Epimedium are delicate looking plants with a strong constitution, tolerating deep shade and tree root competition. Ideally they enjoy well drained, organic soil with even moisture, but they are also drought resistant when established, making them a great choice for dry shade. Very appealing, refined foliage. A long-lived perennial for the front of a shady bed, as a groundcover, or in woodland gardens. Deer resistant. Epimedium are also known as Barrenwort, Bishop's Hat, or Fairy Wings.
